The c-tech approach
We’ve created a method that effectively combines the creativity of design thinking, the scientific reasoning of cognitive science, and the implementation of technology through computer science to solve problems.
How it works
Identifying a problem
Extensive research
User interviews
Students conduct interviews with potential users to learn how to best address pain points and to learn empathy.
Ideation
Students brainstorm innovative solutions based on insights they gathered and move forward with the best one.
Learning
Students choose a module that can guide them through every learning step:
- Game design
- Mobile app
- Web development
- Robotics
- Product
- Service
Mentoring
Girls are paired with industry leaders to help guide them.
Prototyping
Students begin prototyping their solution.
User testing
Students conduct user testing and refine their prototype.
Entrepreneurship
The girls brand their company and build a pitch deck to present to prospective investors. They will also learn how to incorporate and scale their venture.
Demo Day
The program culminated with the girls presenting their prototypes and pitch decks to a panel of industry leaders and investors, as well as their family and friends.
Post Program
Alumni of the program still have access to resources such as classes, special events and talks, and are even encouraged to come back as mentors and program instructors to pay it forward.

Curriculum FAQs
Women lag substantially behind men in terms of their representation in leadership positions. We believe that by teaching girls how to be innovative problem solvers, we are teaching them to be the future leaders of the world. By thinking and solving differently, they are able to close the gender gap with their technological ventures and ideas, as well as inspire the next generation of women to be disruptive and courageous.
Yes! This program is 100% free thanks to our program partners. We also provide laptops, supplies, lunch, and transportation assistance to our students.
Nope! No experience is required to enroll. We just ask that you come to class with an open mind, ready to learn and have fun.
Unfortunately, our program is currently only for Bay Area California residents. In the future, we hope to expand our reach and implement our program in multiple locations.
We are currently only accepting incoming High School Freshmen and graduating Seniors.
Statistically, this is the age range where a girl’s interest and curiosity in technology and science starts to decline. We want to intervene and implement a program that allows them to continue to pursue their desire to learn new and challenging concepts.
We aim to enroll 20-25 girls per program.
Not currently, but we are planning to make our program available online in the future.
The summer program runs Monday through Thursday from 9am to 2pm for 5 weeks.
The After-School Program is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30pm to 5pm for 10 weeks.
We prioritize accepting low-income and underserved girls but always strive to make the enrollment process as equitable and inclusive as possible.
